Venice is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and is admired by one and all due to its magnificent carnival held annually starting two Saturdays before and finishing one day before the Ash Wednesday. This year the Ash Wednesday is taking place on February 22. Therefore, the Venice Italy carnival will finish on February 21st, 2012.
The carnival that takes place annually in Italy is also known as carnevale or Mardi gras. According to the traditions, this carnival is celebrated 40 days before. It is a huge winter festival celebrated with parades, masquerade balls, entertainment, music, and parties. There is something for people of all ages.
