Daylight Savings Time

Daylight Saving Time gives us the occasion to enjoy sunny summer evenings by moving our clocks an hour forward in the spring. The accomplishment of Daylight Saving Time has been fraught with controversy since Benjamin Franklin conceived of the idea. Even today, regions &countries routinely change their approaches to daylight saving time.

Daylight saving time is the observe of temporarily advancing clocks so that afternoons have more daylight & mornings have less. Typically clocks are adjusted forward one hour by the start of spring and are adjusted backward in autumn. Modern DST was first proposed in 1895 with George Vernon Hudson. Many countries have used it since then; details vary by location & change occasionally.
