Administrative Professionals Day

The Last full week of April is celebrated as Administrative Professionals Week and the Wednesday of that week is designated as Administrative Professionals Day. Administrative Professionals Day appreciates and celebrates the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, and other office professionals for their diverse contributions to the workplace.

In the United States, it is customary to take administrative professionals out to lunch on this day and to give flowers or other gifts to them as a mark of appreciation. Administrative Professionals Week was originally organized as "National Secretaries Week" by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) and a consortium of office product manufacturers in 1952.

This day is an opportunity for the boss to thank their secretary for all the support and hard work the secretaries and the assistants put from their part. It is the day to make them feel that they are indeed a very vital and indispensible part of the institution or company.

Administrative Professionals Day 2014

Administrative Professionals Day 2014 will be celebrated on 23rd April, Wednesday. It is an unofficial holiday for secretaries in United States. Administrative Professionals Day ideas include presenting the administrative assistants with little gifts of appreciation like flowers, chocolates, cards, assorted gift basket, wine, candies and office accessories like pen, clock or writing set. Some bosses appreciate their assistant by taking them for a lunch, giving them a day off, getting a movie ticket or surprising them with really good gift like a holiday package or relaxing spa coupon. The main idea behind celebrating Administrative Professionals day is to say "Thank You Very Much" and show them that they really matter a lot.
