Eid al-Fitr falls on the first day of Shawwal, the month which follows Ramadan in the Islamic calendar. Eid al-Fitr also known as Eid ul-Fitr, Arabic for "Festival of the Breaking of the Fast". Ramadan ends with the festival of Eid al-Fitr.
