Summer Bank Holiday Ireland

A bank holiday is a public and national holiday in the Ireland. There is no routine right to time off on these days, even though the majority of the population not employed in essential services receives them as holidays; those employed in crucial services usually receive extra pay for working on these days. The first official bank holidays were the four days named in the Bank Holidays Act 1871, but today the term is colloquially used for public holidays which are not publicly bank holidays, for example Good Friday and Day. The summer bank holiday in the Northern Ireland is on the last Monday of August. This day marks the end of the summer holidays for many citizens who return to work /school in the autumn.
