Eid ul-Fitr

Eid ul-Fitr often abbreviated as Eid is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. Eid is an Arabic word meaning "festivity", while Fi?r means "charity" and so the holiday symbolizes the breaking of the fasting period. It is celebrated starting on the last day of the Islamic month of Ramadan.

Eid ul-Fitr is a day long celebration and is sometimes also known as the "Smaller Eid" as compared to the eid al-adha that lasts four days and is called the "Greater Eid" .Muslims are commanded by the "Qur'an" to complete their fast on the last day of Ramadan and then recite the Takbir all throughout the period of Eid.

A lot of arrangements and preparations are done so many days before the event of eid ul-fitr. On this day all the Muslims wear new clothes, Women apply henna or mehndi. They wear lots of accessories which include heavy ornaments and jewelries. Muslims also decorate their houses in their own special ways to create a feel of Eid Festival among all the family members.

The markets also remain open and decorated beautifully on the occasion of Eid for all the Muslims to do their shopping. Children also enjoy this festival by wearing new clothes and playing games, eid ul-fitr is the festival when all the children have a real fun time as they get gifts, clothes, sweets, perks and love from all their near and dear ones. Children also make special handmade Eid Greetings for all their Friends and notice all the Eid traditions followed by their parents and are excited to follow the same when they grow up. Eid ul-Fitr festival or Eid ul-Fitr festival, usually known as Eid is the most important occasions of Islamic calendar.

Id ul-Fitr festival is celebrated by Muslim community all over the world with great devotion and fun, eid ul-fitr festival denotes the end of 'Ramadan', the month of fasting and beginning of the new month namely 'Shawwal'.

On the cheerful events of Eid Muslim devotees break their fast of Ramzan with special prayer and merriment. On this auspicious Occasion special foods & delicacies are prepared and are distributed to neighbours and friends. The festival of Eid is devoted to the spirit of love, sharing, peace and brotherhood.

Eid ul-Fitr 2014

Eid ul-Fitr will be celebrated this year begins July 28th, 2014(depending on new moon). Eid ul-Fitr is two days of celebration that is very important day for Muslims. Eid ul-Fitr means 'festival of breaking the fast' and celebrated on the first day after sighting the moon of 'Shawaal' (tenth month of Islamic calendar) that marks the end of the month of Ramdan. During the promising month of Ramzan, Muslims observes day long fast and offer special prayers to almighty. Eid festival marks the end of Ramzan and Muslim community all over celebrates this pious festival with utmost devotion, eid ul-fitr celebration at the end of the Ramzan which is the most pious month in Islami Calendar.

According to the legend, one day Prophet Muhammad had a vision in which the archangel Jibril told him how Allah wanted people to live. Then Allah's words were revealed to Muhammad during the angel during the month of Ramzan, and the words were written down to form the holy Qur'an. Prophet Muhammad declared the final day of Ramzan to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr and strengthening the feeling of brotherhood.
