Bookmark and Share
As with any holiday gift, a Hanukkah gift basket will be valued most when you provide to the interests and tastes of the recipient. Hanukkah provides some unique theme possibilities.
Hanukkah is eight nights festival, so you can take a theme and break it into eight parts. Wrap eight items, one for each night and if it's important in what order the gifts are opened, be sure to number them. Choose a piece of colored paper for your gift tags. This can be creation paper, fancier scrapbooking paper, covering paper or any other material you think will look nice.

Hanukkah Gift Ideas

Self made gift tags are forever a creative touch to add to a gift. Hanukkah gift tags, like tags for extra occasions, can be made in
dozens of different designs. Some traditional Hanukkah symbols such as the star--a dreidel or a menorah are popular choices. Gift tags are easy to make and a good skill to do with children.

Hanukkah Gifts

Appropriately, during Chanukah it is customary to provide gelt (money) to children to teach them to enhance in charity and good deeds, and to include to the festive holiday spirit. Hanukkah gelt (Yiddish for "money") is frequently spread to children to enhance their enjoyment of the holiday. The amount is generally in small coins, although grandparents or other relatives may give larger sums as an official Hanukkah gift.

Hanukkah Presents

A more latest tradition associated with Hanukkah is gift-giving, which by all accounts derives directly from Hanukkah's proximity to Christmas. Many Jewish families have accepted the tradition of giving little gifts to their children to alleviate jealousy of non-Jewish friends who celebrate Christmas. Gifts are not exchanged with anybody else, however, and Hanukkah gifts generally tend to be smaller than their Christmas counterparts.
